How can you make your own blog?

You want to start blogging but the thought of how can you make your own blog keeps hitting your mind. And then you have no idea what to do and where to start.

I get you. It can be frustrating. Guess what? Just like you, I have been there. I have faced so much friction while starting my blog that I actually quit a couple of times.

But thanks to my desire of going on, there finally came a time I could actually figure out the pattern successful bloggers employ to get things rolling.

Once I got the blueprint to start a blog, things were never the same again. My new blog was up and running in just a week, all my pages were indexed and now I was looking at only one thing – better ranking.

I guess my pages ranked – that’s the reason you are even reading this blog in the first place! So I am here to share all my findings with you so that you can also start your maiden blog with as less problems as possible!

Fair enough then, let’s get to it.

How can you make your own blog?

On a humble beginning note, you’d need to decide a topic to start a blog. It is called a niche. The niche can be anything – writing, photography, cooking, child care etc. You just need to peep inside yourself and bring out a topic you can write a year about, without fail.

Once you are clear about your niche, say writing, you have to narrow it down to cut the competition. As a matter of fact, micro-niche blogs do better than niche blogs on Google.

Google’s recent algorithms have recently been observed to prefer blogs that are micro niche based than the broader ones. The underlying reason behind this is that users need straightforward answers to their problems and micro niche blogs do just that and more.

Having said that, let’s see an example of your niche and how you can go about it.

So if your niche is writing, your micro niche can be “copywriting for B2B clients”. This not only cuts down the competition, but also gives you better keywords to play with.

You can also make a list of your competitors under this space and track their keywords as to what they are doing. This will save a ton of your time in doing keyword research and you can actually get some great keywords quickly.

Once you are clear about your micro niche, you then have to do keyword research for your blog. You can use Ubersuggest to do so. Make sure you select the keywords with high search volume and less competition. The tool tells you everything.

After that, you need to buy a domain name and hosting. Go for brand name if you’re looking to build a brand. If you’re only looking to make a money making niche blog, you can include the keyword in your domain.

I have other points to tell you, but by now you’d have this question in your mind which I want to answer.

Why start a blog

Be it building a personal brand or making money, starting a blog has multiple benefits. Moreover if you hate the monotony of a job, blogging can be your getaway.

So the first reason is there is no limit on how much money you can make from blogging. From 100 Rupees to 1,00,000 Rupees, sky’s the limit.

Also, you can go ahead and make your blog a full time business by creating a team to run your blogging or better yet, start multiple blogs with a bigger team!

Also, starting a blog keeps your routine in check. To run a successful blog, you have to be consistent with the posting time and with the content quality.

There are other factors to take care of as well. For example, if you are running an Affiliate marketing blog, you must start with a youtube channel too. It helps a lot.

In fact, an omnichannel approach is the way to blog correctly in 2020. Your blog needs to have a presence on Youtube, Pinterest, FaceBook and Instagram so that more people can find it.

The more people who discover about your blog, the better will be the success rate!

How to design your own blog?

I have already discussed a couple of steps in the earlier section on “how to build your own blog”. If you haven’t read it yet, make sure you read that section before reading this section.

The next step involves setting up WordPress on your hosting. Personally, I have been using Siteground hosting and it works like magic. I suggest you host your blog on Siteground hosting as well.

Next, you can go to the admin panel and select the option of wordpress to install it on your hosting. You will be required to set up a username and password and then, welcome to your wordpress dashboard!

You can go ahead and design your blog by installing lightweight themes like GeneratePress and OceanWP and important plugins like Elementor, Yoast SEO, Smush, Google Kit and Wp total Cache.

Starting a blog can be both easy and difficult regarding your approach towards it. When I started, there was no one to guide me. Hence, I made so many mistakes in the process.

But fortunately for you, there are articles and guides on the internet about starting your blog from scratch. You just have to pick the right instructor or institution to follow and then implement those steps to create a beautiful blog for the world to read.

Once you get the tyre rolling in your blogging, you will not look back. It’s just about the success of one blog that is going to change your life. You can then use the same blueprint to create other blogs and grow your business even further.
